Switched all my tabs to PDFs

I finally got a PDF writer, so instead of posting my tabs as pages and pages of images, each song is a single PDF file. This should make things easier to print and view.

I've gone back and edited all my posts so they reflect this change, should anyone find them on a search. Here's what's been converted:

Four Wheel Drive by Buddy Emmons:

http://ohdave.com/guitar/four_wheel_drive.mus

Hot Wired by Brent Mason:

Two Feet Of Topsoil by Brad Paisley:

Wide Open by Kerry Marx:

Let me know if anyone has any problems with the new format. Thanks,

How do you do that? Write and tab all that out? By ear? I am blown away. That is superhuman.

What notation software are you using? I had Finale and boy was it a nightmare to work with.

WOW, thanks Dave! Those are great. I especially appriciate the Brad Paisley tabs. "Correct" Paisley tabs aren't easy to find, and since I'm new to this style of music, picking out all the tricks isn't easy for me to do by ear... I would like to encourage you to post more as you create them. Your really helping me wrap my head around this style.

thanks,
Brian

I've been a space cadet lately due to the day-job, so I didn't notice the thread. Just some replies:

Chris: No, thank YOU for moderating this forum. It's the best.

2twang: Yeah, I tab by ear. I've been doing it for a long time, and have a system that works for me. I recommend transcribing the rhythmic component as well as the melodic aspect. The first time I really wrote something down with the rhythmic component was the head to Mangione's "Feels So Good." It took me three frustrating hours to truly understand what is a pretty simple line, rhythmically. However, I saw immediate improvement in my playing from doing it. Rhythmically, Western music is a game of twos and threes. Everything fits into one bag or the other, and the better you learn to hear that stuff, the more in time your own playing will be. You'll stop trying to cram too many notes into a space because you'll understand that it wouldn't make sense if you transcribed it.

rcliffg and Brian blaut: Thanks.

Dana: I'm using Finale 2003. It is a complete nightmare to work with, but I'm used to it. I persevere, because it makes really sharp looking charts. Everyone I know who does arranging for a living uses Sibelius, though.

Thanks, everyone. I'm glad this stuff is finding an audience. I'm trying to unearth some of my older tabs, converting them to Finale, but my dayjob is way way in-the-way right now. As a teaser, I can tell you that I'm putting the finishing touches on Brent's "Swing With A Sting," "Sugar Foot Rag," and "Pick It Apart." Look for these in the next couple weeks.

Yeah, we actually kinda frown on this, as people tend to respond without looking at the date, and don't realize they're replying to something that happened years ago. Just FYI. Thanks, CS :-)

great stuff but i would personally prefer the rhythm to be restricted to the score rather than put above the tab
