Question for you guys....Will the Valve Special's 5watts be enough to keep up with a drummer and others at a blues jam? Or will the Galaxie 10 watt be a better buy for $50 bucks less? Only thing is that the Galaxie does not have reverb. Are the extras on the valve special worth the extra cash? Let me know what you think?

Thing is, no 5 or 10 watter is going to be able to keep p with a drummer who is banging away. You may be able to get by with a Pro Jr, which is only about $50 more than the Valve Special. You lose reverb, but boy does that thing have tone for days. Anyway, it is your call.

None of the amps listed will keep up in a blues jam, especially if you want any clean tones at all.

If you care at all about the TONE of the amp, (and not just the volume), you should check out the reviews on Harmony Central and Fender Forum. Everybody who owns both the Jr & Galaxie says the Jr is way better.

Cool, thanks guys. I'll do a little more research and save a few more dollars in the mean time. You've been a great help.

IF you can mic the amp and have the soundguy put in your monitor amp size don't matter.
