1/4" to Speaker post cords/cables??!!

OK,

I caNOT find anywhere that sells the amp combo 1/4" speaker out, to 2 prong speaker connectors. This is such a basic and essential part!

Anybody know where I can get one? I tried looking on Google for some of the obvious phrases... but they came up with normal speaker cables, etc.

I'm not sure what 2 prong connector you're talking about. All my speaker cables are 1/4 to 1/4, but I do occasionally use an RCA adapter. If it's not set up for a standard speaker cable, then you may be about to blow up that speaker.

The kind in *most* combo amps.

It goes from the 1/4" speaker out directly to the combo's speaker.

It's usually a 90 degree "elbow" 1/4" plug that goes from the amp's speaker out directly to the combo speaker's posts... it's a super common part, it's just hard to describe (or Google).

I make my own. They aren't a problem to make. PM me with your wire length and I'll get you a price. Priority mail is about $4.

Maybe one of these (http://www.tubeampparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=A&Category_Code=P)?

By "two prong connector" did you mean that it was a two-conductor plug, i.e. mono?

Or were you referring to a specific type of connector on the speaker end of the cable?

I'm thinking you might be referring to spade connectors that slip on over the terminals of most common speakers. If that's the case, then all the parts you need are at Radio Shack. The spade connectors are available in small packages, and just need to be crimped onto the stripped ends of the wire - which can be plain ol' zip cord (lap-style) or pretty much anything labled "speaker wire."

yegbert,

Yeah, like the top two Plugs, EXCEPT with the cable and speaker ends already connected. I guess I could make my own. I already found that link too, but for $10 plus shipping I KNOW I can find the cable already assembled.

Ben Harmless,
I have bags of "spade" connectors. I'm talking about the cable that combo amps use to plug their "Speaker Out" 1/4" to the speaker in the combo.

Maybe I should explain what it's for a little better:
I am replacing my Fender Champ's old RCA speaker out jack, with a 1/4" speaker out jack.

I already have standard Speaker Cable for plugging the Champ into my 2x12" cab, BUT for plugging the Champ directly into IT'S OWN 8" speaker I will need the 1/"4 to speaker terminal CABLE.

It's them little parts that are so hard to explain and find :)

The closest to that I have seen is on my SFDR. It has the right angle "F" plug like the first one on that ampwares page, and simple two-conductor wire but it was just soldered on to the speaker terminals when I got it (used).

If you didn't have your heart set on one with the "F" plug, and you're looking for a good value you can get by a lot cheaper, but I'm still talking about making your own. Radio Shack usually has decent quality right angle plugs similar to the Switchcraft #228 on that same ampwares page, as well as cheaper ones like the ones going for a buck at the bottom of this Angela page (http://www.angela.com/catalog/connectors/connectors.html).

I'd make it myself, so I could have it optimum length. If anyone has them premade like an original Fender, they might be longer than what you'd want because they were intended for a larger combo.

And here's a question to consider: did Fender ever use the spade connectors?

If you mean the thingies that clip onto the speaker terminals... yes.

I tend to solder mine. Never seen any need to disconnect the speaker cable from the speakers in a combo.

Thank you Wayne Alexander! You are the man.

24" is a bit long for a Champ, but that's finally the first time I've found anything close! Funny thing is I checked that site earlier... how did I miss that?!

SO we're on the right track!

I had a Peavey Classic 30 with just about the right length... (4 to 6 inches). Soldered to the speaker terminals, or not - that's the exact part/item!!

I was in radio shack looking for the same thing just the other day. It was driving me nuts trying to explain it to the guy working there!

I don't try to explain anything to the Radio Shack sales people. I'll look until I find whatever I'm looking for or leave when I don't.

Johnny......

Were you able to find one somewhere that was closer to the length you needed? If so...please tell me where. I need one too.
