I have a Highway One Blonde Tele with Maple neck. It's a super guitar. Plays and sounds great. Only thing I'm not crazy about is that it's a little heavy. Otherwise, it great. In my opinion it's the best bang for the buck guitar you can get from Fender.

I have to agree with you guys on the Hwy 1 Strat.
I have one, and would love to have a Hwy 1 Tele to.
can;'t afford both, so I may sell my Strat and get a Tele.
I like a country twang, and I think the Teles are best for that.
Any of you guys got any secrets for makin my Strat sound similar to a Tele?
I don't think you can beat the Hwy 1 guitars for quality and price.

I have a red Highway 1 Lefty.....I bought it at Guitar Center for $325. There was no case with it, but I still thought it was a very good deal. I got the thing home. added a couple of trem springs (5 total) tightened it down some and I love it. The pickups sound really good and it plays real nice.

I just picked one of these up. I've had it for almost 2 weeks now. It looks like MildWild's.
I had a set of Fralin Vintage Hots so I put them in it. The stock pickups were fine, but these have a smoother, sweeter sound.
Mine has a good looking 3 piece body and weighs approx. 6-1/2 lbs. It's very resonant and nice sounding. The fretboard edges are very rounded, though the frets are lower than I like them. I was pleasantly surprised to find the neck is .865 thick at the 1st fret!
I find that it has a sound similar to Clapton when he first started using Strats.
I think I'm going to put a Callaham bridge on it. The MIM ,'50s, '60s, '70s classic bridge that came on it is real junk!

I've had one for a few years and there's a few dings here and there. The finish doesn't relic itself quickly. You gotta hit it against stuff.
I blocked the bridge with five springs and put a Seymour Duncan Alnico II in the bridge. I'm not wild about the humbcuker so I might return her to a traditional strat. I would love to put some aged knobs on her. She's crimson red, maple fretboard.
My tele rules so my strat is usually my backup. I will say with the humbucker it can't come close to sounding as thick and meaty as my epi dot.
But it has the best neck in the world.
