I recorded one of my fav' Waylon tunes over the weekend. I'm no singer so go ahead and laugh (everyone else does), but I always liked the groove. It's a tune you can really get out there and bend some strings on.
I used the old Ensoniq SQ1 to produce the drums and bass. Kinda cheezy but it lays down the groove.
Take a listen and see what ya think,

I appreciate the "great voice" compliment, but I've ALWAYS been uncomfortable singing. Like most of you pickers here, I'd much rather just be the guitar player in the band, but to work we all have to do a little singin' once in awhile.
I'm recording a new CD of B&G stringbenders and string drop tunes. With a little luck it'll be finished by the end of August. The plan is to bring it to the International Steel Guitar Convention in St. Louis. Our Radio Station Steel Radio www.steelradio.com (another one of my money pit projects LOL) will be broadcasting the show and hopefully we'll be playing some of the new songs too?.!
Keep in touch ya'll,

Man, amazing guitar, incredible multilayer harmony vocals, and tremendous production value all the way around!
Very impressive, to say the VERY least! Let's have some more! :D

Joel, thanks for giving it a listen. I appreciate the compliments! After over 30 years in this business, I enjoy playing guitar more than ever.
The mulit harmony vocals is a good way to cover up a not so good singer. I use that a lot when it's me who's doing the singin' LOL.
Good to hear from ya,

I'm sure it's been covered by others, but the only version I'm familiar with is Waylon's.
Waylon had a lot of good tunes to bend to. We usually do 3 or 4 of his tunes a night and they're always fun to pick on.
