'56Teleman September 2nd, 2012, 09:03 AM +1 for everyone already mentioned.
Carlsson September 2nd, 2012, 09:27 AM Joe Bonamassa.

Robert Lockwood Jr
Keb Mo
Tab Benoit
Anders Osborne
Jimmy Thackery
Danny Morris
Jimmie Vaughan
Smokin' Joe Kubek
Susan Tedeschi
Anna Popovic
Duke Robillard
So many more that don't get the credit or popularity they should...
Larry F September 2nd, 2012, 11:17 AM Popa Chubby is great.
dillerb September 2nd, 2012, 11:17 AM Ronnie Earl is another player who deserves a wider audience.
mozzarate54 September 2nd, 2012, 12:30 PM Joe Bonamassa.
For some reason I don't really like bonamassa. He's more rock than blues to me. But no doubt in my mind he's a great guitar player
mozzarate54 September 2nd, 2012, 12:31 PM Matt Schofield I think is a great new playet
I just watched some of his stuff guy is awesome!
klasaine September 2nd, 2012, 01:26 PM Of new actual 'blues' players - Kirk Fletcher deserves a serious listen.
Mjark September 2nd, 2012, 02:09 PM LCvaSbhQvrU
Vidar Busk
cloink50 September 2nd, 2012, 03:37 PM Luther Dickinson
Axis29 September 2nd, 2012, 04:27 PM Not sure why it didn't occur to me to promote my buddy Pat and his band... check out The Blues Buckets (http://www.bluesbuckets.com/)! I always enjoy their shows.... Duh....
twangjeff September 2nd, 2012, 09:39 PM Go get Kirk Fletcher's newest album. He has some tracks with Michael Landau. He really is one of my favorites and definitely a BLUES guy.
Lunchie September 2nd, 2012, 10:09 PM I think Joe B. is really misunderstood. He primarily influenced by Blues but is also heavily influenced by country, jazz and 60's brit rock. Although he has a signature style every one of his cd's sound completely different. He does have a pure blues cd "Blues Deluxe" which is a good solid cd but actually my least favorite of his
I'll +1 Derek Trucks, when I first heard him I wasnt all that impressed but when I saw him on stage with Joe and Billy at the Rock and Roll HOF I took another look and actually really started to like his stuff. The only cd I'm 100% familiar with his is "Already Free" cd and there is not a single song that will let you down.
If you like the 60's Brit Blues/Rock sound The Black Keys are great. I just recently found them out (I am a bit slow ). A lot of fun and a great sound.
andrewsadlon September 2nd, 2012, 10:37 PM I'm a big fan of Mayer and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, although KWS is more rock, you can hear so much SRV in his licks.
Breen September 2nd, 2012, 11:32 PM +1 to all listed. Except for Bonnamassa  Seen him live, he's a fantastic guitar player, but that's really all.
+2s to Matt Schofield, Gary Clark Jr, Kirk Fletcher, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Tab Benoit, Derek Trucks. I'm just naming guys below 45. Benoit's 44.
Shout out for Seasick Steve.
jmiles September 3rd, 2012, 12:18 AM I'm too old for this thread. My "Modern" Blues players are Hook, Wolf, and my friend Robert Jr. And Robert got too modern for me sometimes! Really barely knew him though. He liked my fingerpicking Country Blues. Most of the Modern players, although wonderful players, leave me somewhat cold.
mozzarate54 September 3rd, 2012, 03:09 AM What's Matt schofields best blues album?
Charlesinator September 3rd, 2012, 12:49 PM Actually this guy is not new, but severely underappreciated, Donald Kinsey of the Kinsey report. I've seen him live before and he is easily as good or better than anybody mentioned. Also another player that has fallen off the radar is Larry McCray. You'd be wise to look into these players because they are great.
Budda September 3rd, 2012, 02:28 PM Nicked this link from TGP.
Cool to have these guys show up at your local Blues Jam!
