found this gem in the library..recorded live in 2000, Joe on piano, Graham Maby on bass, Gary Burke on drums (no Telecasters)

he does some of his songs and some covers Mood Indigo, Eleanor Rigby, For Your Love, King of the World, The In Crowd

he covers a good variety of music, makes some of the songs into medleys, 3 piece is always nice because you get some "space" in the music

I'll have to scroll back and maybe find some more new music to listen to, I'm growing weary of a lot of the stuff I listen to or hear on the radio

extremely classical, I guess...

I grew up in a suburb with two old neighbours..one had an expensive turntable/amp set up in the late 60s-70's and played all the Beethoven/classic type stuff...
.... and the guy up behind us played piano in the afternoons.. a bit of jazz and 40's stuff... nice..

. the tunes would drift sublimely over us kids playing footy and cricket in the back yard....

Comfortably Numb for my friend who died last night. 43 years old and a massive stroke. We'd drive around in his Ford Ranger, throw this song in the tape deck and you were not allowed to speak till the song was over. Just something we did multiple times.

I haven't heard this song since 1980...
I was living at Nobbys beach on the gold coast.. the local band squeezed into a small space upstairs at the Miami hotel was The Strand.... this song was in their set... for all I knew they might have written it?... I'd never heard it on radio....
the lead guitarist was a 17 yr old Jeremy Oxley (queensland junior surf champ ).... after the Strand broke up (some guys didn't want to tour).... Jeremy went to sydney to hang out with his older brother , a bass player,...

the went on to form the Sunnyboys... half their first LP was stuff jeremy played with the Strand at the Miami pub friday nights... I heard "Alone with You" on the radio.. Hey! I know that tune, the sunny boys? HuH? that's Jeremy's song ... then it became evident it was Jeremy in a new band...
the rest is Oz rock history...

It was so good to finally find the original artist. this guy...Larry Willis.. ?..

a mate came over and asked me to look up Hot Rod Lincoln on youtube to see if it was there....... and there was Bill doing it too...amongst others...
