You know, after spending a lifetime as a penguin, I haven't any interest at all in dressing up like an elephant. Those things just look wrong on so many counts. Why? For the same reason I don't find fat women attractive.

I knew Jean from back when we used to go see his band Nuclear Rabbit play in the early 90's. Super nice, and very talented guy.

That being said, I prefer mine with 4 strings.

That 15 wangler wide above taint real pretty but I would hold it closer than a heavy weight bar maid though at my age, not all that particular.

Not one person I heard play on this post understands or has a sense of the pocket or the groove. They should all be forced to find the pocket on a one string tub bass before moving to a 2 string tub bass. I don't care if you play a tuba or a ukulele, you have to find the pocket......period. The instruments are awesome, the players are weak, compensating more strings for less grooving. If you argue with my statements, you probably need some more strings.

although I don't personally care for many of the multi's commonly complained about, I find it rather absurd for people to complain about someone else's choice of instruments or type of playing.

Personally, I make do with 5 strings, and yes it's annoying when people ask me why I can't use 4 like everybody else. But ... over the top is over the top. I'm not judging people who play 53-string bass-harp-hybrids or anything like that. I just don't quite understand the appeal. Each to their own.
