Hi.
This is my first post on TDPRI, but I've been lurking around for years. I've learned a lot from the forums, and especially from the home depot department.
Anyway, I found out that now that I finally have a tele, it was time to post something too.
This tele is built from a kit for Reid & son, and is made of pauwlonia. It has a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. I finished the guitar in transparent white nitro, and changed the bridge and tuners for some quality wilkinson parts. The transparency of the paint doesn't show good in the pictures, but it looks great in real life.
I also wound a set of pickups for it, a A5 7.1 kohm bridge pickup, and a neck pickup with A5 wound to 6.1 kohms with 42 awg wire.
The guitar needs a good setup now, but it sounds good, and I think it's gonna play great when everything is adjusted. The pauwlonia is super-light, making the guitar somewhat neck heavy, but not so much it becoms annoying. I'll record a sound clip if anyone is interested.
