Maryland builders and luthiers

Is there anyone on here building in Maryland? I live in a suburb of DC, outside the beltway. I'd like to meet some other builders and soak up their talent. Working on some les Paul bodies with strat necks right now

Please forgive my resurecting an old thread. otsismi may not even be checking the board any more. But, another post inspired me to run a search to see if there was already a D.M.V. Luthiers subgroup. I know there are LOTS of other builders in the general area. It would be cool to get together (after the hollidays) and talk shop. I know I still learn volumes from this site. However, there is still something to be said about having a real conversation with a real human being once in a while.

Anyone interested in something like a mailing list or even a facebook page send me a PM and I will set it up. If anythign we can notify each other when we see awsome but cheap power tools on Craigslist!

I'm in norther VA there's a dude named Melanoski in this area as well. I know there are others but acoustics seem to be the regional favorite and I doubt the spend much time on the telecaster forum.

I'm in Baltimore, not sure how much talent I have to suck up being fairly new to the habit but PM me if your still looking for people around here to talk shop with.

Peter Malinoski, I believe, is around the College Park area maybe. He def makes some very unique and beautiful guitars. There is a big thread of his over on TGP with oodles of pics to check out if you're so inclined.

Brubaker guitars is in the area as well. I don't recall offhand where they are though (maybe the Rockville or Gaithersburg area?). They're a bit more bass oriented it seems, but def build guitars too. Lots of threads over on TalkBass worth checking out.

And there is Beard Guitars out here in western MD. They build resonators though so that may not be of any interest. But they do build some gorgeous guitars.

I am in DC, by Catholic University, and would be interested in getting together.
I don't really play much, and sold all my tools a few years ago and just enjoying reading the site.

I live in the Crofton/Odenton area but live on campus at UMBC in the Baltimore area.
A bit inexperienced but I have a shop.

I live in Cali but I'll be in Marylanad from Dec. 19th to Jan 3rd. Probably in NY and DC a bit of that. Anyway if there is a get together during that time I would like to meet everyone.

Sounds like the making of a party. I know Studysession is not too far from me- a bit north.

My "shop" is a small basement room shared with the laundry! I can host for few guys, but more than that and it would just not be enjoyable. Anyone else looking to host let me know. Otherwise we cam probably meet up at Woodcraft in Rockville. They have a full shop and even have an acoustic luthier class.

This wouldn't be a terrible idea.

this is a good idea, but not necessarily the best time of year. There is no way I can do anything until mid January at the earliest.

I'd be interested in a meet up as well. Would have to wait till the holidays are over, I'll be out of state till the first.

Yeah, I am thinking this gathering would be a good January project. Or the first Sunday after the Super Bowl. In the mean time if anyone wants to meet up one on one send me a PM.
