mal paso August 15th, 2012, 01:22 PM Directions:
1)Start with ground Beatles
2)Next add a dash of Cream
3)Finish with a pinch of Pink Floyd
Ok, so they don't taste that good, but their debut album Innerspeaker(2010) was one of my faves of the last few years

(Made me buy a Phaser, it did)
Anyway, the new album drops in October. Pretty excited
waparker4 August 15th, 2012, 01:23 PM I'ma gonna listen !

waparker4 August 15th, 2012, 01:50 PM First one started out in a way I didn't like (not didn't like, but didn't want to listen to a whole song like that) but quickly derailed into something I really did like. Psychedelic Cream. Wow, really hitting those Beatles vocals on the second one.
Good stuff, really enjoying it.
mal paso August 15th, 2012, 01:51 PM I knew I could count on you, buddy!
waparker4 August 15th, 2012, 01:54 PM After the first riff slows down and it comes to the first turn around (those quick stacatto fuzz chords)... yeah, that's the stuff!
mal paso August 15th, 2012, 01:56 PM He's using a Boss Blues Driver and the red Dunlop Fuzz Face re-issue.
Don't tell the boutique-rs!
waparker4 August 15th, 2012, 01:59 PM Pretty pumped for this impulse buy to arrive

mal paso August 15th, 2012, 02:01 PM That's cool, not familiar with that one!
waparker4 August 15th, 2012, 02:10 PM Me neither. But it's a Si fuzz face with some mods, and they provide the schematic on their site which is nice. Was an eBay special on clearance, so it fell into my search parameters.
MXR 108 fuzz was another target but didn't pop up in time...
After hearing someone here do a demo where they go from some heavy distortion riffage to the signature riff from "I'm Coming Out" with the volume knob I decided I couldn't live life any more without some sort of fuzz face... anyway, back to listening to Tame Impala
mal paso August 15th, 2012, 03:12 PM Very cool. I need me a Fuzz Face too. The Fuzz Factory just isn't cuttin' it
binkydognose August 15th, 2012, 04:44 PM I like Elephant. Thanks, new to me.
gitold August 15th, 2012, 05:54 PM There really is a lot of good new music out there if you look. Thanks Mal.
soul-o August 15th, 2012, 08:40 PM Really liked their first album and I'm looking forward to hearing the new one. There's a side project of the guitarists' called Pond who did a Mutron fried fuzz fest called Beards, Wives & Denim. I highly recommend it.
mal paso August 15th, 2012, 09:17 PM Very good to know, Soul-O, thanks fer the heads up!
Gitold, I agree with you 100%
What's funny about that, at least to me, is that most of the new music I like just sounds like old music!
(If it ain't broke...)

That's kind of what I'm trying to do with the "current music" I'm currently creating
Gibson August 16th, 2012, 12:28 AM I have Innerspeaker on fairly regular iPod rotation still.
e-merlin August 16th, 2012, 12:41 AM I would argue that they start with a bit of Floyd, add Beatles harmonies, throw in some Cream Jamming, and voila!
Of course, it sounds like White Witch to me...
w3stie August 16th, 2012, 12:47 AM They're pretty good, considering they're Gen Y and all  Here's another good up-and-coming aussie band.
