Putting a Tele Deluxe neck on a Tele Custom?

Hi there! I bought a 1974 telecaster custom a few months ago and I was looking into buying a new neck. I really wanted to put a '72 deluxe neck (from a re-issue) on it. I was wondering, will this work? From what I've seen the only noticeable differences are that the deluxe neck has medium sized frets and it has a "C" shaped neck (as listed on Fender's site). If that's unable to work would a re-issue Telecaster Custom neck fit?

Same problems than with mating a stratocaster neck and tele body - different neck heel.

Strat neck will fit, but it leaves gaps - tele neck with strat won't fit.

I had a MIM strat with a MIM tele neck that mated up just fine, no adjustments or drilling required. Slight gap below the neck base but the screw holes lined up fine and it intonated perfectly. YMMV! (No pics, long since been turned into something else ha!)
