Jazzmaster Wiring Mods Suggestions

I just got one of the new Squier Jazzmaster VMs in the mail. It's great and I'll post some pictures soon.

I've been thinking of what to do with the rhythm circuit, which I doubt I'll be using much. I want to use the slide switch as a series/parallel switch, but I'm trying to figure out what to do with the roller knobs once they'll no longer be used. Some ideas I had were to give each pickup an independent volume & tone, or to setup the two knobs basically as a phase switch, where putting both knobs full clockwise would be in phase, and full counter clockwise out of phase (I'm not sure what it would sound like if they're set in between).

Anyone have any other ideas? I have a bunch of pots of different values that I'm pretty sure will fit, so I'm flexible with the values that I could use.

Number one complaint is buzzing noise, so install a stacked humbucking pickup or three.
Clean the controls with caig deoxit d100... install a new switchcraft output jack.

The factory wiring is just fine. you really can't improve it much, except for using humbucking pickups.
Foil shielding is fairly useless.
It's how you set up the bridge and harmonic adjustments, its the nut string height, it's the way you play it. That's really the important part.

That's what I'm going to do. Wire the pots to individual vol/tone and set the Rhythm switch to both pups in series.
