Meh... I went the other way... very happy... Strat I played for years sits in the closet.
Of course it's nice to have the option, but, I'm not using it.
A good Tele is way more lively and expressive.
A Tele with a humbucker in the neck does everything

yes, it definitely cries 'select series'... my knowledge of fender stuff is very little so there must be something really special in those select guitars, as this one really stood out for me ......

........even if it's not a select :mrgreen:
