Phrases in lyrics you can’t stand

What a totally ridiculous thread to be my first on this site…

Anyway, I was, while working, listening to Joe Bonamassa’s new album “Driving towards the daylight” and suddenly he delivers the phrase “All I need is my old guitar”. It strikes me that I can’t stand it (the phrase that is). Btw, is he referring to any of his vintage 59 Les Pauls?
The phrase may be edged out by “this old six-string” in a cliché competition, but not by much.
What’s your favourite phrase to hate?

Cheesy lyrics with love in them, ... especially lines that try things like 'Guilty of love in the first degree' or 'Hold the line, love isn't always on time'

Anything by Sammy Hagar, especially "only time will tell if we stand the test of time" from Van Hagar's (sorry, anything with Hagar isn't really Van Halen) Why Can't This Be Love. Sammy Hagar is one of the worst lyricists in rock music.

Paull Rodgers is a great singer, but his lyrics are worse than even Sammy's..."Don't you know that you are a shooting star, don't you know, oh-oh-oh..." is one of his better efforts...sheer poetry...

I've always thought "So I dub thee" and "Hold Me Until It Sleeps" have no place in a Metallica song.

How about that old Diamond Rio song One More Day with that lyric "One more sunset baby, I'll be satisfied". Where's the toilet, I've gotta puke now? That lyric is just too much b.s. romanticism for me.

I LOVE Chuck Berry, but this...

"I must admit the have a rockin' band,
Man they were going like a hurrican(e)"

...is just horrible.
IMO

any time someone uses the rhyme "fire" and "desire"

that should be an illegal rhyme, by now.

People like to call that one out, but I don't think it's a bad line at all. The heat wasn't dry. It wasn't humid. It was hot.

Add "higher" and "pyre" to that list.
