I may be over-suspicious, but the broken string comment could have been part of the ruse.

Even still. A fake les Paul hat plays good for $225 would be ok. A bullet I might have been willing to take. A project guitar if nothing else.

Having only seen on my phone the screenshot the OP took, no way does it look like a bona fide Les Paul Custom. Fretboard looks to be rosewood, inlays don't look right, headstock inlays don't.look right. Definitely missed a fake, there - wonder if the ad has gone because it was reported to site admin as a fake, not because someone actually bought it?! And you'd have to be a sandwich short of a full picnic to sell a genuine Gibby at such a daft price.
