Wondering if anyone could give me a hand. Looking to upgrade my Baja Tele pickups with a P-Rail (neck) and quarter pound SD (bridge) single coil and try to keep the original s-1 switch pot and 4 way selector switch. Wiring idea's would be much appreciated! I'm not too crazy about the out of phase options on this tele but love the guitar.

Here's something which might help: an explanation of some of the tricks you can do with the S-1.

Its real OoP not ll ? Is the 1/4 lber tapped ? Using that in series at full coil might get muddy, tho not necessarily. Normal 4 way set ups ground the B p/up. That will probably give filtering effects , that might sound either bad or good. The big coil alone and the HB set ups for the P-Rail get good reviews , but not the single blade. I'd have the blade's Hot, hard wired to the V pot. Attach the output of the 4 way to the Blades Cool lead. Set up the switch pot to by pass the Blade by shorting from the Hot to Cool which gives the Normal 4 way. Attach the P90 Hot as the N p/up.Depending on the potswitch setting you'll get: P90 coil or HB , either P-90 in ll w the B or that in series w the Blade, either P-90 or HB in series w the B, the B by itself or in series w the Blade.
