100k tone/volume pot?

ok so i'm new to this whole building thing but i want to experiment and i have a 100k pot lying around and i want to know can i use it for a tone or volume control or for a black ice effect control?

Yes, you definitely can. 100k is a pretty low resistance though, however, so you won't get as much treble making it to your amp.
