Can anyone recommend an ashtray style bridge that is a direct replacement on a '00 Squire Tele Std? Looks like all the ones I've seen are shorter and require filling and re-drilling holes.
Thanks in advance.

I can't think of one.
Even the Joe Barden TB 5141 would require doweling and redrilling.
I used to do a "Bubba Mod" on those existing bridges but the string has to wrap around the barrel to get to the through hole- the through hole is too close to the neck pocket and the break angles are awful - strings feel stiff, doesn't sound great.
So I filled and redrilled directionally to reuse the existing ferrules where they are, got a great break angle, nice string feel and nice sound:

Yes the bottom 3 holes will show on Squiers, even though they're almost all hidden on American Standard conversions.

Thanks. That's what i was afraid of. I guess i'll just learn to love the factory
bridge and saddles.
