I rescued this Japanese bass from my girlfriend's little brother...he doesn't really play at all but wants to for himself, and had asked me to try and fix it up for him. It is going to take a LOT of work to do so, but if it looks like it's fixable I may offer him $25 for it and keep it for myself just to plunk along on. I may get him a squier bass pack for the holidays so he has something with decent feel and action to play on. :!:

Wicked bow to the neck, and the end of the neck/headstock is coming unglued. Someone tried to strip the finish off the neck and butchered it, so I'll probably try and sand it down and seal it with something...interestingly enough, a mini switch was added at some point; I will admit I haven't had to the time to pull it apart and determine exactly what this does, OR if the bass has a truss rod for that matter!

I found mention of this bass online...

Also, ironically enough, it appears that this EXACT model was imported and sold by carvin in 1966 as model # 1-906 for the large sum of $99.90!

Anyhow, neat little bass I think, figured you guys may get a kick out of it! Sorry for the crappy picture quality...best I could do for now!

Update for those who are interested: it DOES have a truss rod, waiting to see if it works...also the pickup DOES work and is really hot
