CraigL August 7th, 2012, 07:49 PM I bought a pink Hello Kitty Squier hoping that my granddaughter would want to take up guitar, but so far she has no interest. So, I have been using it at band rehearsal and I have to say, this thing has a nice raw tone to it that I like, and I love the feel of the neck. It stays in tune really well, also.
Does anybody know of a current Squier model that would have the same or similar neck and humbucker pickup as the Hello Kitty did?

Made it for and with help from my daughter, but she's since lost interest.

OK, that made me laugh...
BigD August 8th, 2012, 10:24 PM Yes, it's the Goodbye Testicles Squier.
I rarely laugh at these type comments but that was hilarious.
I was thinking a diddly bow on the side of a garage.
Seriously though there are alot of cool Squiers that would be similar and less feminine and chidlike. You got big balls to take that to band practice. You must be a hell of a musician.

That's the thing...if I was a hell of a musician I would play out with it and not worry about the snickers
Matthias August 9th, 2012, 07:39 AM There's a black version... Get that and fit a custom pickguard.
stinkey August 9th, 2012, 12:29 PM Isn't one enough??
No, rely will buy it when i find one for the right price.
Jack S August 9th, 2012, 12:38 PM Just paint it if it bothers you, or do you want another one since that is hers? Still, if you get another one just paint the body a different color and whose the wiser, or really even cares?
NastyMojo August 16th, 2012, 09:51 AM I would rock one in pink! I love em'
motwang August 16th, 2012, 10:34 AM Just saw a Pink Strat in GC the other day, but didn't pay any attention to what pickup configuration was. I was a 3/4 size. Thinkin' I'd like to get my grandaughter one!
syrynx August 17th, 2012, 10:35 PM CraigL, at the risk of committing a relevant response...
Yes... Yes, there is (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Starcaster-Single-Humbucker-Strat-Electric-Guitar-108089160-i2567172.gc) an equivalent, though it carries the Starcaster brand.
I was waylaid by one at GC last week. I had merely sat on a bench to rest for a minute when I noticed the all-black Strat with a single bridge humbucker and single knob right next to me. I picked it up, noted the price tag (I could have left with it for $80 plus tax, with GC's Birthday coupon), and immediately put it down, got up, and walked away. I have more electric guitars than I am able to play right now. But it was so elegant in its simplicity! No pickguard... No ugly Strat jack defacing the top (jack is on the rim, like the Hello Kitty Squire Strat, the Telecaster, my beloved Squier '51, and all self-respecting guitars)...
And, though the GC Web site claims (http://www.guitarcenter.com/Starcaster-Stratocaster-1HB-Electric-Guitar-Value-Pack-108089095-i1932694.gc) the instrument has a "standard fulcrum tremolo bridge," there was no spring cavity routing on the back of the one at which I glanced, and the pic on the GC Web site shows no ear or hole for an arm. It's probably the same top-loading fixed bridge that we '51 lovers love to hate, like the Hello Kitty and the Squier Mini.
I don't need it... I can't justify it... I didn't play it at all, so it may very well be terrible.
But I sure like the look and the idea of it.
bugo September 9th, 2012, 06:53 PM I bought a pink Bullet a few months ago. I bought it for the color, but the novelty of a Pepto Bismol-colored guitar quickly wore off and I ended up taking it back for a refund. When I played it, it just made me want to play my more expensive Strats. I took the money and applied it to my Modern Player Marauder, which is an excellent guitar in every way.
