Micro POG type pedals?

Anybody know of some good octave pedals to create some lower octave sounds and will handle chords? I am looking at the EHX Micro POG and just wanted to see if anybody here had some other suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Well, I have the Micro Pog, and it's awesome. Good for bass, 12 string, organ. Handles chords well too. Check Guitar Center's Used Gear section online, you might find one for a decent price. And there's always the 30 day return policy, which can come in pretty handy

Mooer appears to have a Micro POG style pedal in their mini lineup. Small footprint and probably around $65-$80 is my guess.

MXR Blue Box? Kinda fuzzy and doesn't do chords but cheap.

eBay is the only place I've seen them; though I've heard if you call Mooer direct they'll ship you whatever you want for a flat shipping rate. The rate is pricey though, like $20 or something to that effect. I haven't seen any US sellers with them but I haven't been watching too closely.

Awesome guys. That Organizer sounds pretty amazing. The Mooer Pithbox was pretty cool as well. Found a couple of clips on youtube for that. So now I can't decide which to get. :lol: Appreciate the input. Any other suggestions are welcome!

I prefer the BOSS Super Shifter. Those octave pedals are cool, but you don't use them all the time. Don't spend too much money on them.

The Mooer probably works and sounds fine, but you know that the POG is used by countless pros and has a good few years of history behind it. I'd get that, and know that it's almost certainly the best of the stomp-box octave shifters. I doubt Mooer has quite the same quality control/algorithms as EHX and the other effects of their I have checked out demos for don't quite match up to the pedals they are imitating (although they are certainly decent).

hmmm.. I know you can't really go wrong with the mPOG but 200+ bucks is alot to spend on a pedal (for me.) I do like the Mooer Pitchbox and looks like I can get it pretty cheap (under $100.) I play in a rock duo of 2 guitars, voices and a couple of drums and used an octave effect in the studio to fatten up the guitar as there was more space in the frequency spectrum to take up with less instruments. I would want to use it all the time hopefully. I'm a set it and forget it kinda guy. Also I'm kind of a stickler for originality and would hate to sound like some other duos who use octave effects (you know who i'm talkin' bout.) ..Anyway I'm leaning towards the pitchbox but know i can't go wrong with the mPOG so i'm gonna sit here and mull over it for awhile..

..I just found a few mPOGs on the used GC site from $140 - $175 sooo... still mulling.

Check out the Octron. Its all analog and has a bit more grind (fuzz) to it. You can usually pick a B-stock one up from Dave Fox for about 170.

So I ended up getting the Boss OC-3. $100 gift card at $129.99 made it about a $40 pedal. Figure I could return it if I don't like it or exchange it for something like the more expensive mPOG, which would only really be like $112.99 with the $100 gift card from the initial OC-3 purchase. Anyway, everyone still with me?!
So the OC-3 is a really cool pedal! I like the range control. It's like it activates lower parts of the fretboard but still retains the higher part for leads. Cool control. I didn't like the tracking. It's a great sound, I just think that other pedals have a bit better technology. Or more updated I should say. I'm thinking about taking it back and exchanging it for the mPOG. I want to really try it on my rig and if it doesn't tickle my fancy then i'll take it back and get store credit!

I exchanged the OC-3 for the mPOG. This thing is really cool! I like the hammond B3 type sounds. The tracking is superb! I did notice with both pedals that when playing power chords the 5th seems to be more prominent. Like playing a power chord without the lower octave. Anyway that's just the sound to my ears. Not complaining just noting. :) ...now I'm wondering if I should get a bass amp to reproduce all the low end accurately. ..or maybe just a bigger amp. I dunno. ..i guess that's for another forum. haha :D
