OMG! New Squier Telecaster Bassdrvoodoo August 7th, 2012, 06:04 PM http://www.fender.com/en-SE/products/search.php/?partno=0325212507# Anyone seen this???? ptecat August 7th, 2012, 06:06 PM Almost makes me want to play bass! src9000 August 7th, 2012, 06:16 PM Is it me, or does it look a little skinny? DrBanana August 7th, 2012, 06:52 PM Hmm...not sure about this. Aesthetically it's a bit of a moose to me - The pick guard doesn't seem to have any relation to the bridge like a tele does And practically qI suspect that the switch would get in the way if you're playing with a pick and were inclined to do a few windmills... Wouldn't kick it out of bed though... ringodingo August 7th, 2012, 08:57 PM Saw it on a thread from yesterday. It's intriguing. Cadfael August 8th, 2012, 02:48 PM No, it's not skinny, it's taller ... The bridges of most of "the basses" are at the end. Here ist's about 2" / 5 cm (?) to the neck! So the body is not more skinny, but longer. I guess together with the 32" it gives the bass a better balance? I think the JB PU will not compete with the Tele II PU? The Tele PU will be much louder. Width at Nut 1.7"? Not my bass ... csadams5 August 8th, 2012, 04:00 PM The one pickup version is what I want. Classic fifties style p-bass pup in the middle. Esquire wiring. I'm gassing for it in blonde. It is on the other thread as well. Immo August 9th, 2012, 09:50 AM I think the JB PU will not compete with the Tele II PU? The Tele PU will be much louder. I think it all depends on how deep the humbucker will be set. It's signal is very strong and the depth up to almost 1/2" really changes the volume only (but less than 2/10" would distort the sound). Besides, the neck pickup is for reducing the overall muddiness of the sound and if it's as good as the Duncan Designed PU's put in Squier VM Jazz Basses, it'll do really good. I'm still considering putting a single coil pickup in my Telecaster II Bass, but now I'm thinking about using a cream Jazz Bass PU instead of 50's style single coil. |
