I'm looking for a set of Gretsch Filtertrons ( TV Jones way over the bubget ) for my La Cabronita project , not having much luck in the UK , so can any one recomend a US supplier that ships to the UK , there are some on Ebay but seller does'nt have 100% feedback so unsure to use them or not .

The Ebay seller is HDCustom Guitar Supply .

I've found a pair of Filtertrons but they don't stock the fixing screws

Anyone help with this or suggest a alternative screw to use ?

Fender bass pickup screws will work if you widen the hole slightly. I just put a drill bit the right size through and twisted it by hand to widen the hole. I held the bit with a small vise-grips.

"TV Jones way over the budget" but how cool would that be? Sounds like you're attempting an exact clone, but TV sells what you need.

I found a set of the new "blacktops" CHEAP on Ebay ! I put them in my first Cabronita build (a 72 Deluxe conversion/it looks real cool) ! They are respectable filtertrons, although I'm saving for some TVs.

I used P90 screws to mount Filtertrons on my Gretsch Electromatic. I think I found them on Ebay, maybe not, but whatever, they were marketed as "P90 screws". Countersunk, domed, and maybe a little bigger than whatever the official F-tron screws are. Since I already had them in a drawer when I needed them, and I didn't feel like putting my pants on to go screw-shopping, that's what I used.

Thanks for all the reply's , i did manage to source some off of Fleabay but by that time the Gretsch pickups were sold out and he could'nt say when he'd have more in stock

So i pulled the trigger as you say over the pond and a set of TV Jones Classics are on there way , and they come with screws and compression rubber , Proper Job !! .:grin::grin:
