What would you be playing if Leo had not been in the guitar business? If the Tele was never invented. Would you have latched onto one of the hollow bodies? Would you even have considered another instrument or would you not have ventured into music at all?
And for the Gibson guys, consider that Gibson would not have created the Les Paul, as we know it, if not for the Telecaster's popularity.
What would today's music sound like.

I would invent what Leo didn't.

The first time I saw someone that made me want to play guitar was playing an acoustic. I'm pretty sure that's where I would have ended up. Either that or the saxophone I played in school.

The first guitar that called me, was the Les Paul. So I suppose, I'd have gone that route. But then again...if memory serves, Gibson people went out to see ol' Les, after seeing what Leo was doing. So....who knows.
I'd like to think I'd have gone the archtop route though.

I'd most likely be a drummer, as that's what I was playing the first time I heard a guy playing the electric bass - which has been my primary instrument now for 31 years.
But I had a lot of options. I still am more or less a multi-instrumentalist.

Someone would have filled the gap. There was a market for solid body electric spanish guitars (it's so weird that they were called that), and Fender filled it. If he hadn't been around, there's bound to have been someone else to do something similar.

The musicians who played Leo's guitars made his company. Guitars are fashion items.

I'd have remained a 335 player, or gone back to being a bassist.

Probably a Danelectro U1. I had an orginal 1957 Dano U1 ...and since Lep "didnt exist in music" I guess I would have to play through a Marshall Jtm45 Amp.... This is awful!! No Fender!!!
