twintwelve August 5th, 2012, 10:43 AM I need a reverb pedal. I need it to sound as spring reverby as possible----in small doses. Please don't tell me to buy a Fender (or other) outboard reverb unit....had 'em, sold 'em, too poor to buy another. Thanks!!
Did I mention I'm poor?
gearhead1972 August 5th, 2012, 10:58 AM I have one of these it is pretty decent for the price http://store.guitarfetish.com/NEW-DESIGN-Retro-Verb-Classic-Stereo-Digital-reverb-Pedal-Analog-Sounds_p_2187.html
Ringo August 5th, 2012, 02:15 PM A used Hermida audio reverb pedal? I had one and thought it sounded very good.
mal paso August 5th, 2012, 02:30 PM Used EHX Holy Grail
Ringo August 5th, 2012, 02:37 PM The Holy Grail reverb sounds good but requires it's own special ac adaptor, and some folks have complained about noise issues with them.
I had one, didn't notice any hum or noise, but didn't like having to run a seperate adaptor for it.
mal paso August 5th, 2012, 02:54 PM Yeah, I should have mentioned that. I personally have never had any probs with EHX, but their quality control does seem suspect.
(Thanks Ringo!)
KC August 5th, 2012, 03:10 PM Boss FRV-1 is holding down the spot on my board. Sounds much like a Fender tank and seems to turn up used for $100 or so. Much more amp-like than the Holy Grail, which I own & like for its own thing.
twintwelve August 5th, 2012, 05:34 PM Come on, cheapskates.......I need a DEAL!
mal paso August 5th, 2012, 05:48 PM Uh, Behringer Reverb?
Can't speak for tonal quality, and they're made out of plastic, but they are cheap
waparker4 August 5th, 2012, 05:56 PM Biyang Tri-reverb is cheap and sounds good, but it's not very springy
spankdplank August 6th, 2012, 06:23 PM The Behringer is actually pretty good sounding. I think mine is the 400 model. Very springy, with depth, tone, and mix for the amount of verb. I think I paid $30 for mine. Eats batteries, but all verbs do. Really good verb and fairly quiet too. For about $80, the BYOC build your own reverb is incredibly good and it is the most authentic/springy sounding verb of any pedal I have heard. It uses the "Belton BricK" reverb module, which is the same module used on a lot of the high end boutique verbs.
twintwelve August 6th, 2012, 07:11 PM I bought a used Digitech Digiverb for $45 at Atomic Music---it gets one reverb I like....mission accomplished!
