Instrument Insurance in the UK

I'm looking to get my instruments insured separately from my home insurance which doesn't really cover my vintage instruments etc.

I'm thinking of insuring the bulk of it for inside the home with my main gigging instruments covered for UK and Europe. Does this kind of cover typically include, for example instruments left in a club between soundcheck and show?

I am a member of the MU but don't know if the company that they endorse is necessarily the best/cheapest.

Anyone care to recommend companies and perhaps give an idea of how much it cost you for how much cover?

As I said, only interested in UK companies.

Thanks

Senor Twang,

I've had guitar insurance from countless different companies and situations both domestics and road but the simplest, best, educated (which is essential in loss) way to go is with UNION insurance, I also have used their credit card and credit union and also can get ops for health or life insurance and other benefits. I use two forms of insurance, the one from musician's union and the other is from GLOCK. Never leave home w/out 'em.

Best of luck, TD

I did notice that you only want UK companies, however, I use Clarion for to insure my instruments. They are based in the US but my instruments are insured anywhere I go in the world. (Please let me know if you do find any UK companies!)
