I'm looking for a pot to use in an old D'Armond Volume Pedal. The problem with most is that they don't have enough physical resistance and the pedal comes down on it's own giving you full volume when you don't want it. So I need one that's rather stiff.
I believe it takes a 250K audio taper pot.

The DeArmond volume pot is 1 meg linear. It should be possible to adjust the rack and pinion to offer more resistance so the pedal stays where you want it.

I found the schematic. You're right Eric, it is a 1 Meg linear. I'll mess with the rack and pinion too. Any suggestions on a good pot?

Had issues with mine and found one on eBay. Search "1 meg linear potentiometer" and you'll find a bunch. I think an Allen Bradley would be a direct replacement of the original - a NOS can be had for under $20. Make sure to find one with a long shaft to accept the gear.

Do you guys like linear taper in a volume pedal? Interesting. I've never noticed, but do other manufacturers do that?
