Now that I have worked myself through Jaco Pastorius` DVD "Modern Electric Bass" and the "Blues Bass" book by Jack Bruce I`m up for new challenges. Can you recommend some Videos, DVDs and/or books for an advanced bassplayer that`ll keep me busy for a while?
Any suggestions welcome  .

Greetings,

The Billy Sheehan series is really good, even if you're not a metal player.

Books, huh... Find a good open mic, become the host bass player. Consider chasing people round on songs you've never herd before as an exercise in ear training and harmony. Seriously you can learn a lot... yes there can be endless repeats of Pride 'n Joy but there is also the occasional gypsy jazz guy or ? That shows up. I keep iRealBook on my iPad so if I need a chart, it's probably there already.

This is very good advise. I spent about three years playing at open mics with a friend who played acoustic rock stuff. We had a blast and it was an amazing learning experience.
