anyone use any of their guitars, I'm seriously considering getting a tele from them with a wide range humbucker in the bridge and best part of these guitars is that they are not super expensive and they are custom made for you , why would you shell out 3 grand for a mass produced gibson 335

Because they are a known instrument with an identifiable tone?

These might be great instruments - or they might not. There's very little specific information about these "Electrical Guitar Company" instuments.

With guitars from a small builder you may be taking a big chance on resale value. Some become well-known and hold their value well. Others come and go and resale value is nil. No negative comments about this company in particular. I just caution players against purchasing guitars they've never played.

I just looked them up and they all run in the 1500 to 2500 range. If I didn't know better, I'd say this guy is pushing this company...

Hey Logan,

I have an all aluminum EGC #460. It's polished aluminum. it has 2p90s, 2 vol, 2 tone a phase and a 3 way selector. The comfort, the feel, the tonal range, the subtle harmonics, the balance across the neck and frets, the overt playability of it is unparalleled by any other guitar I've owned (LP, Tele, Travis bean and some just not worth mentioning:)). I'm buying another very soon.

As for resale value, well... I'm not in it for that. Maybe 20 years from now they'll be worth more etc etc... Maybe not. I'm in it for the love of sound an the intoxication that comes with great sound. On top of that the aesthetic beauty of it is so alluring all I want to do when I look at it is play it. It is inspiring.

I'd be happy to let you try mine I you are the Alberta area, or Vancouver (I'm 6 months in Jasper, 6 in Vancouver). PM me. I have photos on my Facebook page that are publicly accessible too. I'm also going to be importing some to Canada and by the looks of it could save you import and shipping costs at the least - Again PM me.

If you like the tele ones I'm sure you've seen the Facebook page for EGC and it's most recent postings. So killer. City of Ships just Had one made with HBs...

In short: I highly recommend. Kevin is an artist with a huge amount of integrity and care for the instrument he puts in your hands.

Not sure what you listen to, but his instruments are in the hands of many well known musicians these days! I'm not into their music so much but if you listen to the openning track of 'Wavering Radiant' (I think that's the album) by Isis, you'll get a great idea about the clarity in tone, the balance across the neck an frets, and the balls.

There more examples of the balls variety with the Melvins, Tomahawk/recent Jesus lizard (and what ever the other bands Duane Dennison is involved with these days), Brent hinds of Mastadon, Torche...

Hope this helps! I can't imagine regretting an EGC.. But be warned the wait time can be... Anxiety producing! Lol!

Cheers!
