Clearance question - bridge pup v wires

Hi all, a question about the tele I'm assembling. The hole drilled between the bridge pup and control plate cavities is about 5mm (3/16in) diameter and the top of the hole is about 10mm (3/8in) from the top surface. It seems to be this doesn't allow enough clearance for the bridge pickup, which can't be lowered close to the bridge plate because of the interference from the wiring. Am I right and should I widen/deepen the hole?

I actually had this problem with a HWY 1 tele. The original pickup had a plastic base, and had a recess for the little plastic wires to go through the wiring channel to the control cavity. When I put a traditional pickup in there, the base plate bound against the side of the route. I had to widen the wire channel to accomodate the new bridge pup and allow it to adjust correctly.

Boy that was a dumb question ... got the drill out and made some more room for the wires, all good now. Now to solder this baby up. Maybe tomorrow ... If only work and family would give me some more time!
