Not much of an adjustment - floated an Area T neck p/u on a modern pickguard instead of bolting it to the wood. Can go higher but not down much unless I route and get longer screws.
So I may put back a neck shim at the heel to get the bridge up a bit - the strings are also too close on the bridge p/u and I can't lower it much without routing and longer screws there also.
Any thoughts or ideas on the above ?

Why did ya take it out in the first place?! I agree that shimming is the answer here. Experiment and see what works best.

It had .11 strings and a warped badass brass 6 saddle bridge from 1970 which is pretty thick. I found the set-up a bit stiff compared to my Les Paul with .11, guess it's the shorter scale and decided to put back the original bridge & saddles while changing pickups and going to .10. Have a GOTOH 6 saddle but not sure if I liked the sound.
The original bridge with the shim caused the 3 saddle intonation screws to stick up at too much angle so I took the shim out wanting to see the difference.
Will put it back with one less layer - was 3 layers of very thin sandpaper installed by a top Luthier - was fine until I changed back to the original bridge.
Maybe will also try 10.5 strings to get more tension on the neck since the truss rod adjustment doesn't do much - I may have stressed the rod by forcing under string tension way back when I didn't know any better.
If I put back .11 strings the problem will go away but like the feel better when lighter, not sure about the sound - is pingy when acoustic with the lighter strings but ok through the amp, thinner sound.
