Boss RC-2 Pedal with Microphone

I'm a performance artist who is trying to use the Boss RC-2 pedal to build a performance around looped vocals. I have no experience with music equipment at all so my knowledge is starting from scratch.

I first tried the Boss RC-2 pedal, a Nady Starpower SP-4C microphone and a Rogue G-10 Amp. But the microphone was often not getting through to the amp, and would not pick up most of my vocals. I learned that the microphone output was not at line level, and therefore I would need a pre-amp to bring the microphone up to a level that the Boss RC-2 pedal could hear/work with. So now my setup is as follows:

Nady Starpower SP-4C Microphone
\/
ART Tube MP Studio Preamp
\/
Boss RC-2 Loop Pedal
\/
Rogue G-10 Amp

I'm still only getting pieces of sound going through, and rarely can I get out a full line without the output cutting out. So, first off, does this setup look right? I mean, with the equipment I have, is it workable? And second, if the setup is good, what adjustments should I be making for this to work? After reading the manual I still do not understand what adjustments should be made to the input and output dials on the preamp.

Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure the RC-2's strong suit is vocals. Have you looked at the next level up? RC-30, I think it is. It's the double pedal that has an XLR input. Maybe pair that with a Shure SM-58 and you should be on your way.
