Little experiment using my Esquire, acoustic guitar, drums, shaker, and some funky envelope filter stuff. Lyrics are, well, I'll let you all judge.

I'm curious to hear people's opinions on the song idea as well as the mix itself.

I really like this!
The lyrics make me think; although I can't agree with everything, they make me think, and that's good.
For example, "the ephemera of our culture" theme. Lots of specific complaints about culture in the lyrics..but it's all just transitory anyway "as if we cared."
Seems like a comforting buffer and a "you people vs. we people" thing. That's how I see it, but still like well thought out lyrics whether or not I agree with them.
I like the sequenced synth. I like how the arrangement of the background singing follows the lead vox and then changes at the end of each phrase.
Great singing and instrument arrangements. Playing is top notch!

Thank you very much. The lyrics definitely reflect my dissatisfaction with American culture these days. Although I should keep in mind a conversation I once had with a French intellectual, who said to me, "I don't like your American culture." To which I responded, "What culture?"
Curiously, what I think you call the "sequenced synth" is actually a guitar through an envelope filter, although there is also a sort of techno drum loop underneath it.
