conorb August 1st, 2012, 11:58 PM I just buttoned up my tele build yesterday and was able to take some photos today.
To be clear I didn't do everything myself. The final neck assembly and setup was done by my local guitar guy and I didn't do the pinstriping.
I did the color and body assembly including all the wiring, etc. I also ordered the custom Warmoth neck, but I didn't *make* it. ;)
Here are a few pics:

My plan is to give it to my cousin this weekend who just graduated from high-school and had a birthday. He plays thrash/speed metal. :)
I see a few "spots" on my pictures; I think the sensor on my camera needs to cleaned as they are not on the actual finished guitar.
Thanks for checking it out.

CapnCrunch August 2nd, 2012, 12:03 AM That is Sweet! I'm pretty sure your thrash metal cousin will not appreciate the beautiful Teleness of that guitar. You better send that over to me for safe keeping!
Nicely done!
If you don't mind, who did your pinstriping.
glen smith August 2nd, 2012, 12:14 AM Wow, that is beautiful!
Barncaster August 2nd, 2012, 12:27 AM Wow C!
I really dig the striping. So what kind of pickups did you load for that metal-loving cousin of yours? Twould be cool to show up at band practice with a Tele like that that blows away the black SGs. Some seriously evil pickups can be wound for Leo's old slanted mount.
According to Tele player extraordinaire G.E. Smith, solid mounting the bridge pickup into the wood and not the bridge plate is key to making a Tele controllable from a feedback perspective at extreme volumes. I've done it and it sounds great! Well done sir!

tvvoodoo August 2nd, 2012, 01:17 AM Phenomenal, and I don't care much for blue guitars. I can look past that on this one!

The pinstriping was done by Jim Carmickle of Eugene, Oregon. He's 73 and has been pinstriping since he was 15. Saying he knows what he's doing is a bit of understatement.

I used Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials thinking that they would be a little hotter than a "normal" tele pickup and I wired in a 4-way switch so he could have the pickups in both series (stacked) and parallel along with just bridge and just neck configurations. So, not super evil but I was trying to keep some of the costs down.
I also used a q-sawn maple neck along and a Pau Ferro fretboard with jumbo fretwire.
All in all it should be a real barn burner.
Thanks for the comments.
