I have a buddy that wants to do a project of a Ry Cooder Guitar - but with a Tele body - does anyone have any details on how these are setup, as far as action height, nut width and types of frets. This is a full on slide guitar setup.
I know the pickups are Lollar - already sourced those babies.
Thanks for checking it out and any suggestions.

I built one for last years Challenge and used a Wilkinson half Tele bridge. No special set-up or neck angle needed but I had to fudge the string spacing on the Supro pickup a bit as the Fender spacing is a little too narrow. Still, everything worked OK. Cooder used a regular Strat neck so just go with whatever you like.

FYI on the video, at the time I hadn't adjusted the polepieces on the Lollar unit (didn't have the correct allen wrench) and the output and tone increased tremendously when I did. The guitar was recently used on this song for a movie soundtrack (not played by me  )

Just beautiful! Can you tell me about a couple things?
1 - How high was your action from the top of the 1st Fret and the Top of the Tweleth fret?
2 - Is the nut bone or something else?
3 - Do you doa flat back to your neck, or is it boat shaped?
Thanks so much - beautiful guitar!!

Old Picker, thanks but it's not me playing, it's Oliver Leiber.
AVF, sorry I don't have any specs besides the neck was round, not square and nut was bone. I personally like my slide action fairly high and I use 12s for lowered tunings like D and G. The bridge is adjustable so just mess with it till you like it.
