So about a year ago, I sold a hand made guitar through a local guitar shop near my workplace (It was the 5th guitar that I had built). The guy who bought it used it in some shows over the course of that year and changed the thickness of the neck. (I like the heavier neck) After a little more than a year he brought it back to sell through the same guitar shop. I saw it there after the shop owner said it had just come back in the last week and the first owner was pretty much just trying to break even. A week later it was gone and the shop owner told me the name of the buyer... Jim Peterik of the Ides of March and Survivor. I was shocked! Then last week I was back in the same guitar shop to pick up some parts and he (Jim Peterik) was in there to pick up some guitars he dropped off for setup. He was pleased with the similarity of the guitar I had made a "1958 Flying V" even when standing it side by side with the REAL THING. He even asked me if I somehow found some blueprints from Gibson. He also said he has already been playing it on stage and he has no plans to change the guitar except to have the lacquer repaired on the back of the neck from the work (thinning the neck) that the first owner did.
So does anybody else have a story of a famous or semi-famous musician buying or otherwise owning a guitar that you made? Pictures?
