Found this on GC a while back when looking for a teisco tulip style guitar. It's cheap, WAY cheap, but i've requested info about it and a guy from that GC got back to me saying that the guitar was fully functional and playable. The only issue he brought up was that the frets seem slightly shorter than the board in places due to expansion and contraction over the years. I'm not expecting miracles with this guitar i'm just expecting something quirky to mess around with in the garage or possibly use for slide. so as the title asks; should I pull the trigger? and if I'm not satisfied (like if the neck looks like a roller coaster) does anyone know if GC would let me return it or would I just have to eat the cost and move on?

I say go for it, at the very least it'll be a nice wall hanging. May even sound funky, like it looks.

GC would let you return it if you don't like it. I think if you have them ship to your nearest GC instead of your house they'll pay for shipping but I could be wrong--better ask them if you're going to buy it (and confirm their return policy in case they changed it but I've bought used stuff and returned it in the past with no problem).

Well I checked the return policy and it's basically as you said so I felt a little more comfortable about it. I ended up buying it so I guess I should change the name of this thread to "I pulled the trigger". I'll post pics when I get it if anyone is interested and if im excited enough about it I'll post a video of what it can do.

For $80, make it a nasty-ass slide guitar like you said. The frets won't matter.

to be honest on most of the japanese "junk" guitars I've played there isn't enough to the fret itself to make any difference anyway. Any grooves can't get deep enough to cause problems and the frets were so small to begin with that even if they are worn practically flush you can tell the difference. I played a Guyatone once that might as well have been fretless and it really didn't bother me, couldn't do any crazy bending though. In so many words (alot of words) yeah the frets won't matter. The neck is what worries me because it doesn't have a truss rod
