Trapeze

Does anyone remember the group Trapeze? Mell Galley, Glenn Hughes, and Dave Holland. They were a short-lived British group from the 70's. I loved the LP Medusa as a teenager. Black Cloud is one of the best rock songs ever. It's a solid record. Hughes is an excellent talent. He left to join Deep Purple and that sort of ended their run. They went on later to some funky stuff like You are the Music...We are the Band. The early records had punch.

As good as Trapeze was, I think that Humble Pie and later Bad Company sort of stole their thunder. Glenn is a great vocalist, but it's hard to compete with Steve Marriott and Paul Rogers on vocals. He is still going strong, recording with Joe Bonamassa, among others.

Loved em'.
Sadly, Mel Galley passed away a few years ago.
Killer P90 (SG Special) through cranked Marshall tone!
My favorite Trapeze song is "Loser".
Lots of tight interplay, wailin' vocals by Glenn H.

Brookdalebill,

Yes, the late, great Mel Galley. The Brits seem to love a Gibson through a Marshall.

Another one who is gone is John Du Cann from Atomic Rooster. Died last year. He had many guitars, but used teles quite often. Another under appreciated talent.
