Any of you guys had any dealing with changing the neck on a Carvin Bolt? I built a kit around 6 years ago and the neck has a hump in it around the 12th fret. Really a POS neck IMO. I would like to order a new neck for it (NOT CARVIN) Has any of you guys changed the neck on a Bolt before?

If I remeber correctly a standard strat type neck will fit but you need to get one that is NOT pre drilled as the carvin neck plates are smaller. So you'll just have to line it up and pre drill yourself. I had always heard great things about Carvin necks but now I'm starting to wonder... Could the hump be adjusted out or maybe a fret level help?

Have not heard of neck probs on Carvin's.My CS6 is still great. Did the kit come wih a finished neck? or did you have to do that yourself?

There's a lot to complain about with regards to Carvin guitars, but the necks have always been decent.

Stiff and without any tone whatsoever, but always nicely playable.

Have you contacted Carvin about this problem? Might be they could help you out, I don't know.

Thanks guy ^

I've email Carvin twice and no reply back. I suppose I need get off my lazy arss and call them  I was told on a forum site that the warranty is good for only 5 years and only 1 year on kits?

I took it to a local guy and he tried to adjust it out but the hump is still there. I don't think he is real sharp on neck repair. Maybe I should take it to someone in Indy.

The neck was not finished but I used a real good tung oil on it and used 10 coats.

I've read before that some people had this hump thing on their Carvins.
