I realize a Telecaster forum isn't the best place to ask a question about humbucker wiring, but I also know that TDPRI is about the best knowledge base out there..so here goes.

I've wired up a couple humbucker-equipped guitars with 3-way mini switch that gives normal (series), coil tap, and parallel output. Which I am very pleased with, and use it a lot. But I get confused sometimes, or have to stop and think before flipping the switch.

Does somebody have a diagram to wire one of these switches up so that it goes from coil tap to normal to parallel, in that order? Sort of a low-med-high setting that's easy to know when you're switching gears in the middle of a song or coming in and out of a solo?

I would think loudness wise it would be: ll , one coil, series . Or do you just want series in the middle cause thats where you'd like it ?

I love puzzles.
http://www.**********************/product/SWM23-17/Double-Pole-ONONON-Mini-Toggle-Switch-w-Bat-Handle-Chrome.html I thought I had it figured . Now I realize its impossible. The white lead needs to go to Ground in 2 instances if its the single coil or the Red lead needs to go to Hot twice if it is. That can't be done w that kind of switch in that order w the middle as series.

It can't be done in that order with a DPDT on-on-on. The only way I can work out to do those three one one switch has series first, split in the middle, and parallel last.

You could probably do it with a 4PDT on-on-on if you can source one, and if you can fit it in the control cavity.

Heres a 4 pole http://www.**********************/product/SWT36-17/3-Way-4-Pole-Guitar-Toggle-Switch-Chrome.html I can't see how this helps either... After looking longer, I see that can be used, using two rows for 1 lead. If you are interested I'll list the connections.

I was afraid it was something like that. I knew there had to be a reason! I stared at the wiring diagram I used for a while and couldn't come up with something.

I'll just learn to live with it the way that it naturally works best.

Thanks both you guys though!
