New pickups for a G&L ASAT Classic Tribute?Aweaver0608 July 29th, 2012, 08:15 PM Just curious if any of you have any experience with different pickups in a G&L ASAT Classic Tribute. I was wondering if maybe the new Alnico pickups would work in it or if any one else has a better sounding pickup than the stock ones. Thanks in advance! I have the semi-hollow version of that guitar and decided on Bill and Becky Lawrence's MicroCoils -- I found them to be a *huge* improvement over the stock MFDs, and that modest little Tribute is now my #1 instrument. I made a few other mods along with the pickup swap, but you can treat the MicroCoils as direct "drop-in" replacements, so if you're OK with the stock bridge, switch, controls, etc. they'll work just fine. |
