Im kinda looking at these things. Is the quality on the level? They seem real cool.

Any opinions, comments, criticism would be welcomed.

I have one and really like it. It has a nice full sound and is built pretty well.

I've never owned any danos but I've played quite a few here and there and have always found the construction to be solid and functional. Nothing fancy but they get the job done and they definitely have a unique sound.

I had one and sold it to a friend of mine. It was my spare 12 string electric, and I enjoyed playing it for the most part, but I went through a period where the neck had to be adjusted regularly. It finally settled down and stayed pretty straight after a while. I finally realized it was sitting idle and let it go. Not a bad guitar for the money, or if you don't want to spring for a Rickenbacker. It did not sound like a Rick though, but it had plenty of high end spank, due to the lipstick tube pickups.

Is there a single cut 12 string?

Thank you OP. Have been looking for a decent 12 string for a while, and until I saw this thread, I never would have thought dano made one. Thanks again.

Danelectro 'Innuendo' solidbody. It's a decent 12 string.

About three years ago, I sold this guitar along with a bunch of misc items to a junk store dealer in a nearby town, he bought and sold a lot of used low-end musical stuff. I always regretted selling this guitar, so when I went back into his store about a year ago and saw it was still there I bought it back on the spot. Got it back for $150, and it was still almost spotless.

It has several built-in onboard effects but they're pretty lame, the neck is quite nice IMO, with a reasonable nut width and pretty low string action.

I've been borrowing a friend's MIK blue sparkle DC-12 for gigging for a couple of years and when I had the chance to purchase one just like it, I did. Some will tell you the Korean-made Danos are better quality than the current chinese Danos. I can only say I preferred the dual concentric vol/tone knobs to the current single volume and tone knobs. Also, they don't offer that cool blue sparkle anymore either.

Masonite Danos are a perfect illustration of something that shouldn't work, working wonderfully.

I bought a Danelectro Danoblaster Innuendo 12-string 2 weeks ago. I posted here: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/other-guitars-other-instruments/337902-ngd-danelectro-innuendo-12-string.html

I love the guitar. Quite honestly, though, I think of it as a Dano in name only. It's not masonite (rather, it's a plywood solidbody). It doesn't have those signature lipstick tube pickups (rather, it's a 3-pickup strat setup). But who cares?!?! It's a great-sounding, nicely-done Korean 12-string. And quite affordable!

It's like a Strat had a baby with a 12 string Hi-Flier!

My Innuendo is like Johns but in a blue burst. Best $100 I've ever spent on a guitar.

I've got one. Sounds great and plays well - I just don't play it much. Here it is:

Hmmm! wonder If I could have three chrome lipsticks installed in my Innuendo?

I have one of these, but blue. I don't particularly like to hear it by itself, but it blends well with other instruments,

You can hear a bit of it here, although it's pretty deep in the mix:

I have a Korean made one and really like it. I am frankly surprised at how well it stays in tune. I expected it to be a tuning nightmare but it us not. With my JangleBox compressor, it gets really jangly and chimey.

Nice one slotrod! The Danelectro DC59/12

I have a couple of these, also Korean built. One is Sparkly Blue like yours and the other is a Black one. These I believe are from around 1990 and have the clear maple neck and a clear coke bottle headstock, unlike the later 'all black' jobs. They also come with two chromed lipstick p'ups, stacked knobs and the famed 'seal' guard.

The chromed bridge/tailpiece is a masterpiece of ingenuity, both in reliability and workmanship. Later models also have matte finish, rather than the polished chrome fittings, and do not have the stacked knobs if I remember correctly.

These guitars do stay in tune and whilst not always easy to find, can be had fairly cheaply. They are also tons of fun and sound amazing!

Why two? I was made an offer I couldn't refuse ...... really ..... and with two grandsons who both play guitar, I have no regrets.

They're a cool guitar for sure. I have the Hodad with 3 lipstick pickups and the rotary selector switch dealio. You can certainly get a wide range of sounds. If you want a Rickenbacker 12 string, just save up and get one. If you're not bothered by brand or the traditional 12 string image and want a good 12 string guitar get one of these. Like the six strings, sure there is room to hot rod it (upgrade pickups, tuners etc) but I've yet to come along a reason to do so. Tuning hasn't been an issue and the pickups sound good to me.
The bridge is probably one of the best 12 string designs out there.

The bridge is a Gotoh design that is really excellent. But the best reason to get a Dano 12 is that the neck is actually wide enough for grown-up hands to play.

Why not? GFS has strat size lipsticks you could swap out.

I'll check them out, thanks.

I also think it needs four new control knobs, maybe black ones to contrast against the white pickguard..
