Hi guys,
I'm more of a reader than a poster around here. But I've been having serious trouble deciphering the fret size on my tele. Fender custom shop lists it as 2.375 in R5. Its a vintage type, but other than that I'm running a blank. Even old trusty google haven't provided any help. Anyone know what type of fret this is?
Here is a couple of pics.
All help is much appreciated.

Nowbody knows? Took out the ol' caliper. It is close to the dunlop 6230 specs but not quite. Would love to know the exact specs..

You could email Fender and ask them. I did just that with my AS and they replied .103x.43

I've never seen numbers like that in reference to frets, can I ask you to elaborate on that? And what model are we talking about?
Fender sources frets from different places, so the size varies slightly, as do manufacturing tolerances. If they're close to Dunlop's 6230 spec, you might as well call them 6230.

It's a Jason Smith master built tele. The spec sheet that the custom shop provided along with the guitar has it listed like that. Several online shops does the same. Like here: http://wildwestguitars.com/Fender/dis-prod_389_standard.html or here http://www.amazon.co.uk/FENDER-CUSTOM-SHOP-ESQUIRE-RELIC/dp/B005VO1ZW2
I didn't email Fender because the Norwegian portion of their web site does not provide an email address, but I just realized the US portion does, so I'll email them shortly.
I'm asking because I'm looking for the closest match for a different guitar. And even though by now I've decided on the 6230 I'm enough of a nerd to wanna pursue the exact specs on my tele.
I know, I should stop wasting my time and go practice..

For those interested, Fender just replied the following:
"This is our standard fretwire for vintage instruments as .084" wide by .039" tall."
That's not far off the 6230 fret spec @ .080" x 0.37"

Jescar now uses numbers for their fret sizes that actually denote the dimensions, so for example FW47095 is .047" tall by .095" wide. The sheer logic of it is reason enough to use their wire. Besides it's great quality. Luthier's Mercantile International sells it if you're not going to buy pounds of it from the manufacturer.
Incidentally, that .084 x .039 is really tiny acoustic guitar sized fretwire and quite frankly there's a good reason why it's not popular on electrics anymore. I wouldn't use vintage style wire just because it's what was on there back before they got everything dialed in and figured out as far as player's tastes and a better feel. Vintage vibe is one thing, but playability and comfort are quite another. Not that I go for the jumbo wire fad today, but I don't like vintage size wire either.

But are they talking cs?
Most cs are 6150
