Anyone here using this combination to add a little thickness to the clean channel of their HRDeville 410s? I play mainly rhythm with humbuckers [Yamaha SG1500]

Any comments especially from those who have used the Blackstone?

I have narrowed my search to either this, a Fetto Custom, Fulltone FD2, Barber Small Fry, or Lovepedal Kalamazoo.

I love my Blackstone. It sounds really natural, and doesn't need a tube amp on the brink of breaking up to sound good. I play a 52RI or a Epi Sheraton into a MusicMan 210-65, and both sound good with that pedal. There are some that will say the Blackstone is a lot better with single coils, but I think it works good with both - although I have low output more PAF-style pickups in the Sherry.

Now, if you're looking for "thickness" this might not be your thing. With the Blackstone, you can either scoop out the mids, or have them flat, but there's not a mid-boost option to get you into Tube Screamer territory. I don't have any of the other pedals you're looking at, but I think the FD2 is a TS derivative.

The thing that sold me on the Blackstone was being able to get a great OD sound with an absolutely clean amp, and it really excels at that.

Clean OD without much 'fizz' is the first priority, I could get a little mid boost elsewhere after the Blackstone I guess, maybe a Barber Small Fry afterwards?

The Blackstone is excellent thru any Fender amp. With the Fender being clean, the Blackstone thrives in that situation to give you a natural sounding overdriven tube amp sound w/out the high volume levels. It is very dynamic and just use the volume knob off of the guitar. As for using humbuggers, use the brown drive rather than the red drive.

The Blackstone also stacks well w/ other pedals: OD, distortion or fuzz.

Thanks for the feedback
I ordered a Blackstone and I'll try it on its own first as it might be all I need.
