meharimehari July 28th, 2012, 04:50 PM Hi ! I'm Italian and this is my first post here..... I',ve built some teles using different woods and styles...keeping in mind the original project but also trying to do something different...
This is my last build the "Flamethrower"
Has a Pine Body and a Ash neck, both flame-burned...
Do you like it ?
DABrault July 28th, 2012, 04:56 PM I love it. There's something about an old rustic look on a Tele.
bossking7 July 28th, 2012, 05:02 PM Cool tele! Welcome to the forum!
meharimehari July 28th, 2012, 05:29 PM thank you.... hope I'lll post again new guitars...
meharimehari July 28th, 2012, 05:29 PM that was the goal...old and rustic...
fretman_2 July 28th, 2012, 05:30 PM Very cool indeed!
Bentley July 28th, 2012, 05:47 PM Kinda looks like the one build by... uhm... I believe it was a challenge build and he put the hardware in acid to make it rust and painted the body to look like an old sign. It had the dragon on it. If someone knows what I'm talking about i'd love to remember.
meharimehari July 28th, 2012, 06:02 PM Yes.. I know is not a new idea.... but i love the result and also the sound... I wound the pickup by myself... the bridge is similar to a nocaster (overwound and awg42 wire) the neck pickup is looking-like but is not a P90 is a single coil tapped, alnico 3.
joaopazguitar July 28th, 2012, 06:13 PM love it and the headstock is gorgeous!
just miss a complete pickguard.

kmacaster July 28th, 2012, 06:34 PM Pine body and ash neck, that's something new and refreshing.
Thank you for sharing with us; I love it.
skipjackrc4 July 28th, 2012, 06:57 PM Love it! I need to build one of those some day...
skipjackrc4 July 28th, 2012, 07:00 PM How did you burn the body? Propane torch? Any pics of before it was burned? Again, it looks awesome!
src9000 July 28th, 2012, 07:15 PM Nice. I like my toast burnt.
jnepo1 July 28th, 2012, 07:18 PM Good looking build, sounds very nice. I like the pickguard.
DCzysz July 29th, 2012, 12:01 AM I'm also curious how you burned it. It looks very cool.
meharimehari July 29th, 2012, 02:48 AM How did you burn the body? Propane torch? Any pics of before it was burned? Again, it looks awesome!
Yes, propane torch
I've no photo but have another body, same wood...I'll post a pic.
meharimehari July 29th, 2012, 02:50 AM I'm also curious how you burned it. It looks very cool.
I used a little camping propane torch
the body never start to burn, it only became darker
DCzysz July 29th, 2012, 03:02 AM Cool!
JCJCJC July 29th, 2012, 03:40 AM Excellent, love it.
Westerly Sunn July 29th, 2012, 04:22 AM She's a-dee-lish-shee-o-say!
RyanThePirate July 29th, 2012, 08:29 AM Thats hot as hell!
ErikW July 29th, 2012, 12:48 PM I think it's great! I really like the half-guard too; is it metal? The hardware looks awesome, I really like that aged brass look.
Rich_S July 29th, 2012, 01:13 PM It looks like somebody dug it up from an colonial-American-era archeological site. I like it.
Coop47 July 29th, 2012, 02:17 PM Not crazy about the pickguard, but I love the P-90, the top hat switch and the knobs. Cool little touches.
Fred_Garvin July 29th, 2012, 02:27 PM I think it looks great, i love when a guitar shows the grain like that.
Welcome & job well done!
meharimehari July 29th, 2012, 02:28 PM Not crazy about the pickguard, but I love the P-90, the top hat switch and the knobs. Cool little touches.
thanks.... i like the pickguard (obvious) but everyone has personal tastes...
the p90...is not a p90...has only the p90 shell...insid is a single coil tappable.
Mojotron July 29th, 2012, 02:44 PM Very cool - full of teleness and attitude - I love it.
stinkey July 29th, 2012, 03:11 PM I like it!! Brown guitars has something special to them.
meharimehari July 29th, 2012, 03:19 PM I like it!! Brown guitars has something special to them.
YES !... maybe beacause brown is the natural wood color and you feel the woodiness of the guitar ?
meharimehari July 29th, 2012, 03:23 PM another detail.... no ferrules in the back.... the pine was too soft to go straight in line...so i decided to route a channel and insert a steel bar
meharimehari July 29th, 2012, 03:26 PM the ash grain in the neck
Fred_Garvin July 29th, 2012, 05:09 PM Is there any finish on it? Or any plans for it? I'd put some sealer on it at least.
EunosFD July 29th, 2012, 05:25 PM Love it. Very cool!
Olav July 29th, 2012, 05:25 PM Love me a BBQ-caster. Smokin' job.
jay1970 July 29th, 2012, 06:32 PM Thats a cool guitar.
thorton077 July 29th, 2012, 06:33 PM reallly cool, i think its awesome
Bentley July 29th, 2012, 10:59 PM another detail.... no ferrules in the back.... the pine was too soft to go straight in line...so i decided to route a channel and insert a steel bar
That is a really smart idea!!! For people without drill presses or any way to drill straight holes, you just drill a 1/8 inch steel bar then insert it in the back and so on...
meharimehari July 30th, 2012, 02:02 AM Is there any finish on it? Or any plans for it? I'd put some sealer on it at least.
Yes, on the body just a bit of polyurethane to preserve from dirt. Oil only on the neck
