Allparts TMVF-C neck

I'm in need of a neck to go along with a reliced body and came across this one online http://www.allparts.com/Aged-Satin-Finished-Maple-Telecaster-Neck-p/TMVF-C.htm Does anybody have any experience with this particular neck that could share their thoughts? Thanks!

I like using Allparts necks. I get them unfinished, and I prefer to do them in Tru-oil. They are prepped nicely and ready to be finished. DON'T ever buy a Mighty Mite neck, you will regret it the minute you open the box.

This one is already finished and I've found some on ebay for $175 which seems like a good price. However, I've read that they usually need fret work which I haven't done before.

I've bought 3 of the Allparts necks, never needed any work on the frets. All I've done is polish them, but that can be any neck you buy. Sure there are better quality necks in the market, but you will also pay much more than what you are looking at.

DON'T ever buy a Mighty Mite neck, you will regret it the minute you open the box.

The MM necks were just too consistent in there finished product. I know they are unfinished, which I prefer, but i have bought 3 necks from them, and returned them. Their fret work was terrible, some were really long and some were too short that you would have to replace them. The fret ends weren't even slightly filed, leaving a razor sharp end that I got several stitches from. I never kept them, just returned them and asked for a refund. I gave it a try 3x, which was just too many times.

175 DOLLARS FOR A NECK!!?!?!?! I could make one for the cost of fretwire and tuners! And a dog bone for the nut... oh and like 5 bucks for the truss rod.

whoa...sounds like a really bed luck. BTW where did you find unfinished MM? I couldn't google one. The do have a paddle headstock neck on their website, which i suppose is unfinished, but that's all.

Necks i've used (strat, tele and 2 j-bass - all finished) weren't that terrible. They do need fret leveling, but hey...that's the fun part! IMO the weakest point is sharp fret ends on 1-piece maple necks. It's hard to deal with when neck is finished, but still possible. They install frets after the finish and just rely on inventive powers of their customers, i guess. As for the rest, i would say great necks. And after the year in a humid basement environment for a strat and a tele i can say - very stable necks. But each to their own, of course

I haven't heard too many negative reports here about MM and a ton of people use them regularly. I've only had one, but it was almost as good as the Allparts ones I have used. I didn't care for the super polished fretboard, but the rest of it was fine. Stew Mac sells them and I doubt that they would put up with crappy workmanship all the time.
I think you'll have pos and neg comments with all the aftermarket necks.

That's the first place I bought a MM neck. I bought it unfinished and returned it after receiving it because the fret ends were cut too short and never filed.
