I can get the OCD for $109 or the Luther drive for $117 . This would be my first pedal so I'm pretty stupid about this kind of stuff. But I want to give my ac15 a little more kick.

Or should I go for something like the line 6 m9 that will give me lots of different od's?

Never tried the Luther drive, but I can assure you that the OCD sounds stellar through Vox tube amps!

Here's a comparison vid of four pedals.

Luther is more transparent. Depends on what you want.
I happen to like the Luther better. OCD has more mids and sounds a little muddy to me.
At he same time it has a little more "hair". Also depends on what kind of music you like to play and of course, your amp.

The Luther is friggin' amazing, especially with the Loud Mod.

Man, that's a tough one. Honestly, I think you'd be happy either way as both are really great sounding pedals. The Luther is in the Tubescreamer family while the OCD isn't. I guess it really depends on what sound you want. The OCD is really cool in that it's very responsive and "amp-like" if you will in that you can get a lot of tonal variety just through picking dynamics and volume knob manipulation; the Luther doesn't do this as well. I also think the Luther is a brighter sounding pedal than the OCD.

Ideally, get both, if not, try to figure out which sound you prefer. These days I've been playing through my OCD more but when I kick the Luther on it's all good too.

I guess I'd say if you're just adding a little flavor to your tone the Luther may be the way to go, it really smoothes things out. If you're using more pedal than amp then perhaps the OCD would be the way to go.
