I have found the holy grain of distortion tones with my setup and this pedal BUT there is so much hum with my tele , is that just the nature of the pedal or is there something that will help besides a noise gate, would a compressor help or some other pedal, I'm using a 1 spot so is that contributing to the noise, if I got a voodoo labs pedal power would the hum be gone ?

I really do not want hum on stage during our ambient slow clean intros playing lightly with the dark matter on ( it cleans up really well)

I don't really wanna change my pickups cause I love the tone so much right now with them

A compressor will increase hum most likely. In fact they commonly induce hum, where there was none before.

You might want to check into better shielding your guitar and/or checking any cables you have in the chain before the distortion... The pedal might be picking up something which should not be in the signal in the first place.
