I began this build in late May, and finally finished it a few days ago. I'm very happy with how it turned out. It feels and sounds great.
Hope you guys like it!

Hope you guys like it! Chris Winsemius July 27th, 2012, 04:05 PM cool! how did you build the body? Maybe a stupid question but I wanna start buidling some bodies within a few months and a thinline one would also be cool to build. tia! fretman_2 July 27th, 2012, 04:53 PM Wow...great job! I love it. Bentley July 27th, 2012, 11:55 PM The cut of the grain is cool. It looks flat saw on the outside then quatersawn on the inner region DCzysz July 28th, 2012, 12:23 AM Chris, Read the build challenge threads. That's how i learned everything. I was completely clueless just like you, so i spent a few weeks just reading people's threads when i had free time. fretman, Thanks! Bentley, I have no idea what the difference between those two are. I just know the grain on quartersawn wood is generally very straight, right? If ya want you should explain. Crafty Fox July 28th, 2012, 12:43 AM Nice one! Bentley July 28th, 2012, 03:03 AM Flatsawn is the spaced out grain, quartersawn is closer together. This is how they are cut bender66 July 28th, 2012, 04:05 AM Stained? Great color. What did you use? DCzysz July 28th, 2012, 11:15 AM Flatsawn is the spaced out grain, quartersawn is closer together. This is how they are cut Cool, thanks. Makes a lot more sense now. DCzysz July 28th, 2012, 11:19 AM Stained? Great color. What did you use? Yes it was stained. I was actually going for a look like this guitar that someone else here made, but it was a lot harder than it looked. And I just used a stain that I found in the basement. Bentley July 28th, 2012, 02:42 PM It's a nice stain, none the less. |
